Support Our Work

Flipbook Foundation for Literacy Advancement is about youth literacy interventions – providing remedial literacy instruction, especially for students in the public school system. It also encourages young people to develop their creative writing skills and become the next generation of writers. Flipbook was founded initially as a creative writing platform to boost pleasure reading, and grow writing talent. However, we quickly discovered that literacy rates were quite low in public schools. The numbers of low literate and underachieving students were huge; a lot of the students were leaving school illiterate or barely literate. Sadly, the teachers and resources to solve the problem were scarce. It was clear then, that private sector participation in the system was necessary. So, we started organizing interventionist programs in schools to help bridge the literacy gap.

Flipbook Foundation creates a low student-teacher ratio; one-to-one tutoring, small group tutoring and peer group support. We strive to find fun and creative ways of individualizing literacy instruction. Flipbook is vested in improving the national literacy rates in order to help youths succeed. It is founded on the necessity of empowering people through literacy, to access opportunities for both individual and national growth.
